Amanda Tepper is the founder and CEO of Chestnut Advisory Group. Amanda honed her expertise in asset management business development throughout her investment management career. Prior to founding Chestnut, Amanda served as Global Director of AllianceBernstein’s senior portfolio management team, a group that crafted and delivered the firm’s investment insights to institutional and retail clients and consultants. Amanda developed deep experience in sell-side equity research as Associate Director of Equity Research at Bank of America and as an Institutional Investor All America Team-ranked analyst at JPMorgan. Before moving to the sell-side Amanda spent five years as an investment banker in JPMorgan’s retail industries group She began her investment career on a corporate bond trading desk.
Amanda holds an MBA from Wharton and a BA from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa. Amanda is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Endowment of the Art Students League of New York. She also serves on the Andover Development Board of Phillips Academy.
Prior to co-founding Chestnut Advisory Group, Maria spent 20 years as a senior attorney and business professional. She was senior counsel at GE Capital Treasury Operations, where she specialized in derivative transactions, and also served as strategic advisor for risk management, business, tax and cash management operations. Maria was a senior legal consultant to Safra National Bank of New York for derivative transactions. She spent eight years post-law school working in several preeminent NYC law firms specializing in complex litigation matters, risk management and loss avoidance.
Maria holds a JD from St John’s University Law School and a BS in Mathematics from Marymount College. She is a founding member, trustee and board member of Charna’s Kids Club/New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. She also serves as vice-chair of the finance council for Church of the Assumption.
Simon brings Chestnut’s clients the experience gained from over 25 years in senior business development, marketing and client service positions with Canadian and global asset management firms. Prior to joining Chestnut, he was Vice President & Director, Institutional Relationships with TD Greystone Asset Management, where he was instrumental in using data and technology to successfully drive business development and improve client service. Before TD Greystone, Simon was the CEO and Head of Sales for BNP Paribas Investment Partners Canada. Over his career, Simon has helped retail and high net worth investment firms successfully enter the institutional arena, and has consistently grown businesses by tailoring marketing and sales strategies and processes to suit specific distribution channels. Simon is a trustee and a member of both the investment committee and the ESG subcommittee of the General Synod Pension Plan of The Anglican Church of Canada.
Simon earned a B.Sc. (Honors) in applied mathematics from the University of Alberta, and an M.A. in Mathematics from Stony Brook University.
Chief Operations Officer
Jeff joined Chestnut with 25 years’ experience managing client service, technology, and operations. He has directed client service, marketing, and e-commerce project management teams for clients such as eBay, PayPal, General Motors, Pitney Bowes, and AT&T. Recently Jeff helped improve educational outcomes for underserved K12 schools as Director of BIS for Achievement First and Director of Program Operations for New Classrooms.
Jeff holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Wharton.
Eric is an investment management executive with a demonstrated track record developing business in strategically complex environments. For over twenty years he has partnered with asset managers ranging from boutique start-ups to established global firms and brought innovative new product and business lines to market. Known for fostering authentic relationships and a collaborative approach, Eric has overseen a $15 billion investment platform and has sat on the board of several wealth management businesses. He currently works with several start-up businesses formulating their corporate development and go-to-market strategies.
Eric has a BA with Honors in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
Todd brings more than 25 years of Financial Services experience with leadership roles focused on product, marketing, corporate strategy and M&A. Prior to joining Chestnut, he was Executive Vice President, Head of Global Marketing, Product Solutions and Corporate Strategy at Cohen & Steers and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Before joining Cohen & Steers, he was with Principal Global Investors, where he helped design and lead the product development process and served as Managing Director of Product Development and Strategy. Previously, he was Head of Product Development as well as Institutional Marketing at Hartford Investment Management.
Todd earned a BS in Industrial Management and History from Carnegie Mellon University and an MA in International Economics from the University of Kentucky. He serves as a member of the Finance Advisory Board for the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business & Economics.
Michelle has twenty years of alternatives business development, investor relations and marketing experience. She was previously a Client Relationship Manager at Aberdeen Standard Investments (formerly FLAG Capital Management) and Investor Relations specialist at FLAG Capital Management, where she served as a primary point of contact for the firm’s Limited Partners, ran the GP Annual Meeting, and supported capital raising efforts for the firm’s Private Assets investment strategies. Prior to FLAG, Michelle was an Associate at Portfolio Advisors for five years where she was responsible for various of the firm’s institutional clients with respect to portfolio updates, quarterly private equity reporting, responding to investor requests and assisting with GP Advisory Board meetings on behalf of clients.
Michelle holds a BS from the University of Connecticut and she is a CAIA Charterholder.
