Amanda Tepper is the Founder and CEO of Chestnut Advisory Group, a firm that provides business development consulting to asset managers. Chestnut’s services encompass strategy, content and implementation.
Previously Amanda was Global Director of the senior portfolio management team at AllianceBernstein. Amanda has deep experience in sell-side equity research, as Associate Director of Equity Research at Bank of America and as an Institutional-Investor All-America Team- ranked analyst at JPMorgan.
Amanda holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BA from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa. Amanda is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Endowment of the Art Students League of New York. She also serves as a member on the Andover Development Board of Phillips Academy.
Joe is currently a Senior Advisor at Chestnut Advisory Group. Prior to joining Chestnut he was Chief Distribution Officer at Foundation Source, a leader in private and corporate foundations. Prior to joining Foundation Source Joe was Executive Vice President with BNY/Dreyfus leading U.S. retail sales including relationship management, wholesaling, and internal sales. Joe spent a significant portion of his career at UBS Financial Services and as a Managing Director led the firm’s Products and Services Consulting organization, and the distribution of all retail products in North America. Joe earned a B.S. in Finance from St. John’s University, an M.B.A. from Adelphi University and currently holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton School.
Simon, who is based in Toronto, brings to Chestnut’s clients the experience gained from over 25 years in senior business development, marketing and client service positions with both Canadian and global asset management firms. Prior to joining Chestnut, he was Vice President & Director, Institutional Relationships with TD Greystone Asset Management, where he was instrumental in using data and technology to successfully drive business development and improve client service, and was a key manager of TD Greystone’s OCIO relationships. Before TD Greystone, Simon was the CEO and Head of Sales for BNP Paribas Investment Partners Canada, where he was ultimately responsible for the distribution of both traditional and sophisticated investment strategies to institutional and quasi-institutional clients. Over his career, Simon has helped retail and high net worth investment firms successfully enter the institutional arena, and has consistently grown businesses by tailoring marketing and sales strategies and processes to suit specific distribution channels. For ten years, Simon chaired the investment committee of the Canada Gives Foundation and served on the Foundation’s board of directors.
Simon earned a B.Sc. (Honors) in applied mathematics from the University of Alberta, and an M.A. in Mathematics from Stony Brook University, and is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
Chief Operations Officer
Jeff joined Chestnut with 25 years’ experience managing client service, technology, and operations. He has directed client service, marketing, and e-commerce project management teams for clients such as eBay, PayPal, General Motors, Pitney Bowes, and AT&T. Recently Jeff helped improve educational outcomes for underserved K12 schools as Director of BIS for Achievement First and Director of Program Operations for New Classrooms.
Jeff holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Cynthia was most recently Executive Vice President, Head of Manager Research, Performance Analytics, and Investment Solutions at BNY Mellon Investment Management. She was she was responsible for performance oversight, due diligence, and analysis of investment performance across BNY. She held previous senior roles at Russell Investments and Rogerscasey as well as having served as chief investment officer for United Technologies, Philip Morris, the City of Hartford, and SBLI, a New York-based insurance company. Currently, she serves on the Investment Committees of the Hartford and New Haven Community Foundations as well as the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut and Hartford Healthcare Corporation.
Cynthia received her Bachelor’s Degree from Smith College, an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.S. from The Bank Street School.
Elyse has spent her career in financial services focused on client and employee engagement and experience, strategic planning and portfolio management. She was most recently the Chief of Staff and Global Head of Experiential Marketing for the Marketing team in the Investment Management division at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Elyse held roles in private wealth management and in portfolio management for Lehman Brothers/Morgan Stanley and for American High Growth Equities Corporation, respectively.
Elyse participated in the Returnship at Goldman Sachs and is involved with iRelaunch and Take the Lead, as well as a mentor for women interested in returning to work after a hiatus. She is also a passionate supporter of AIDS Walk New York.
Elyse has a B.S. from Cornell University.
Prior to co-founding Chestnut Advisory Group, Maria spent 20 years as a senior attorney and business professional. She was senior counsel at GE Capital Treasury Operations, where she specialized in derivative transactions, and also served as strategic advisor for risk management, business, tax and cash management operations. Maria was a senior legal consultant to Safra National Bank of New York for derivative transactions. She spent eight years post-law school working in several preeminent NYC law firms specializing in complex litigation matters, risk management and loss avoidance.
Maria holds a JD from St John’s University Law School and a BS in Mathematics from Marymount College. She is a founding member, trustee and board member of Charna’s Kids Club/New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. She also serves as vice-chair of the finance council for Church of the Assumption.
Alison brings a decade of capital markets research experience to Chestnut. Most recently she initiated and maintained institutional equity sell side research on the retail industry, covering more than $80billion in equity market cap at Pali Capital. Previously Alison was at JPMorgan, serving on an Institutional Investor All-America-ranked equity research team covering the footwear and apparel industries. Alison was first trained as an investment banker at JPMorgan.
Alison holds a BS in Economics and a BA in English from Duke University.
Kevin has spent his career in management consulting and commercial real estate providing advisory and consulting services across the range of commercial real estate activity, including strategic planning, opportunity assessments, market research, business development, and fundraising initiatives. He served as a Sales Director for Cushman Wakefield/MKRS and a Principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In addition, Kevin has 25 years direct experience as a commercial real estate investor.
Kevin holds a B.S. in Engineering from Howard University, an M.S. Cert. from NYU/Polytechnic University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School.
Amy brings over 15 years of experience in senior asset management marketing and communications roles, most recently as Vice President, Communications Manager at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Prior to that she spent 9 years at Legg Mason as Vice President, Channel Manager leading marketing initiatives to drive sales and build brand awareness across the National Broker Dealer and Independent Advisor Channels.
Amy holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut State University.
