Amanda co-leads Chestnut’s strategic advisory practice, partnering with asset managers and OCIOs across a diverse mix of asset classes and firm sizes to devise and implement successful growth strategies. Amanda’s custom market research expertise often shapes her advisory work.
Her early research into the OCIO marketplace on behalf of advisory clients led directly to Amanda serving as co-founder of the Chestnut Solutions Institute, where she leads the Institute’s research efforts.
Prior to founding Chestnut, Amanda served as a Global Director of AllianceBernstein’s senior portfolio management team, a group that crafted and delivered the firm’s investment insights to institutional and retail clients and consultants.
Previously, Amanda developed extensive sell-side equity research expertise as Associate Director of Equity Research at Bank of America and as an Institutional Investor All-American Team-ranked equity analyst at JP Morgan.
Before moving to the sell-side Amanda was an investment banker in JP Morgan’s retail industries group. She began her career on a corporate bond trading desk.
Amanda holds an MBA from Wharton and a BA from Brown University. Her past Board memberships include the Investment Advisory Committee for the Endowment of the Art Student League of New York, The Global Advisory Council for 100 Women in Finance, Girls of New York, and the Andover Development Board of Phillips Academy.

Ravi’s desire to help advance the future of the investment solutions industry combined with his firsthand OCIO and Solutions experience led directly to him serving as co-founder of the Chestnut Solutions Institute, where he leads the Institute’s strategy and Member engagement efforts.
Prior to joining Chestnut, Ravi was the Global Head of Investment Solutions at MFS Investment Management, where he led a team that delivered bespoke investment advisory and consulting services to clients. His team was also responsible for investment thought leadership and education for MFS’s client facing teams. He was previously responsible for global consultant relations and institutional defined contribution at MFS.
Before moving to MFS, Ravi was the President and Chief Investment Officer of Mercer Investments, having founded Mercer’s OCIO business and one of the industry’s earliest leaders in the fiduciary management space. Prior to creating the OCIO business, he was a Worldwide Partner and region head where he served as senior investment consultant to multinational corporate and public retirement plans, sovereign wealth funds, and endowments and foundations.
Ravi holds a master’s degree in economics from Tufts University and is a CFA charter holder. His past Board memberships include being the Chair of MFS’s Retirement Investment Committee, Chair, Steering Committee of the Active Managers Council and Chair of Generation Citizen, a non-profit organization focused on civic education in middle and high schools in Massachusetts.

Mary Jane (“MJ”) Bobyock
MJ is a Senior Advisor at Chestnut and brings over 20 years of experience in asset management and investment consulting, as well as deep expertise in non profits.
Prior to joining Chestnut, MJ spent over 11 years as Managing Director of Nonprofit Advice for SEI Investments’ OCIO business, where she supported institutional client relationships as a key resource providing custom advice and analysis.
She coordinated asset allocation reviews, governance training, spending studies, investment policy reviews, and financial risk and return analysis. She has been a contributor to SEI’s thought leadership and social media publications regarding nonprofits since 2012.
Previous to SEI, MJ worked at Russell Investments as a Senior Client Executive, where she provided advisory and investment management services to nonprofit OCIO clients, and at Miller Anderson & Sherrerd/Morgan Stanley Investment Management as a Vice President on the Institutional Client Service team.
She is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and participates on their Nonprofit Planning Committee.
MJ has her M.B.A in Finance from Temple University and her B.S. in Finance from Villanova University. MJ has served on the Board of Settlement Music School and is currently a member of their Investment Committee.
She is also a Trustee for the Presser Foundation Board where she serves as the Chair for the Finance/Investment Committee and is on the DEI and Capital Support Committees. She is also a participant in the Philadelphia Arts & Business Council’s “Business on Board”.

Marcel Miu, CFA, CFP, CAIA, CDAA serves as an Advisor and Senior Analyst at Chestnut. Marcel has spent 13 years in the asset management and alternatives space.
He held VP positions at Cohen and Steers, with coverage across Product Management/Development, Product Marketing and Investor Relations.
Additionally, he served as their Head of Alternative Income and Multi-Strategy Product Management and Development.
Most recently he has consulted to companies in product management, development, and analytics. He also operates an RIA specializing in financial planning for startup tech professionals.
Marcel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance from Ohio University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Nick is a Senior Advisor at Chestnut and brings over 40 years of asset management sales and distribution experience to Chestnut’s clients.
Nick advises asset management firms on distribution strategy and structure, sales efficiency and effectiveness, sales talent assessment, product positioning and messaging, sales coaching, and presentation skills training.
Prior to joining Chestnut,, he was Managing Director, Head of North American Institutional Distribution for BNY Mellon Asset Management, where he was responsible for the centralized distribution and client servicing for BNY Mellon’s eleven investment boutiques’ asset management strategies to a wide range of client segments: corporate pension and defined contribution plans, Taft-Hartley pension funds, Public Fund pensions and Endowment and Foundation clients as well as Canadian institutional and retail platforms.
Prior to BNY Mellon Nick was responsible for Institutional Public Fund sales and distribution at SSgA and prior to that spent 19 years with Putnam Investments in sales and distribution roles across various retail and institutional channels. Nick began his career in financial services with Merrill Lynch as a Registered Investment Advisor.
Nick holds a BS from Penn State University, and currently serves on the Penn State Harrisburg Business School Advisory Board and the Investment Advisory Committee of St. Michaels, Marblehead, MA.
Nick held various Advisory Board positions with the National Institute on Retirement Security (NIRS), Texas Association of Public Employees Retirement Systems (TEXPERS), Pennsylvania Association of Public Employees Retirement (PAPERS), National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA), Marblehead, MA Counseling Center Board member and. He also had affiliations with the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) and the National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR).
